A city famed for its lakeside locations, Chicago features many spectacular high-rise buildings, which stands just meters from the shoreline of Lake Michigan. Chicago is also known for its jazz clubs, fine dining, truly world-class galleries and museums, numerous city parks, and miles of sandy beaches. The city of Chicago appeals at so many different levels, with businessmen visiting the many major corporations in the main financial areas, and tourists arriving to enjoy the endless waterfront attractions and culture.

Chicago has a choice of two airports, with the O'Hare International Airport (ORD) being the biggest and most popular. O'Hare Airport is located on the northwestern side of the Chicago Loop, while the Midway Airport is closer to the city center, and sited to the southwest. Both airports are easy to reach from downtown Chicago and offer an array of transport options, including color-coded CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) bus lines (blue for O'Hare, orange for Midway).

The downtown district is based around the Loop and outside of this area you will find a city comprised of many distinct and individual neighborhoods. The majority of Chicago's top attractions lie close to the city center, including a host of entertainment options around the Theater District. Outside of downtown Chicago, a number of sightseeing opportunities also present themselves in the districts of Andersonville, Hyde Park and also around Devon Avenue.

Useful points of reference around the city include Sears Tower along South Wacker Drive, once the world's tallest building and still holding the record for the highest occupied floor. Nearby, the Chicago Cultural Center is an eye-catching building, with Italian-style architecture and a grand stained-glass dome. Several enormous parks can be found around the city and include the Botanical Gardens along Lake Cook Road, Lincoln Park on the North Lake Shore Drive, and the spreading Grant Park, on South Columbus Drive.
